Nency Escamilla Nency Escamilla is excited and honored to be representing the state of New York at nationals this coming July in Las Vegas where she will be vying for the title of Ms. United States 2011. Having been inspired by her sister and brother-in-law for the years of service they have given to our country and knowing that much awareness is needed to support soldiers and their family members, Nency's official charity platform is "Uplifting Heros" (A outreach program whose mission is to support, show our love, and appreciation to the often forgotten heros of our country.) She currently volunteers with Soldiers Angels in the Letter Writing, Adopt-A-Soldier, and the Sewing teams. Besides showing support through her creativity another unique way which Nency believes can uplift heros is through the human animal bond of pet companionship. Having always had an affinity for animals,their well being and knowing through her own experience of how joyful and beneficial pet companionship can be, it was only natural to combine helping homeless animals find their forever home and soldiers their furry companion where both heal and have unconditional love and support from one another. She currently serves as a pet photographer and pet adoption counselor for NYC Animal Shelter where "finding a match" is part of her mission. Nency attended art school at the San Francisco Academy of Art University where she earned a BFA in Fashion Design, specializing in special occasion. Prior to moving to New York,she assisted the Miss. California 0rganization (both at local and state) helping wardrobe contestants in evening wear, talent and sportswear. She has worked for Jessica McClintock and Cache. She is currently working as Associate Dress Designer and resides in New York with her 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier, Little Miss. Sparkles.
